Bolton does not escape getting any weather! Although about 40 km (25 miles) inland, it benefits from the warming of the Gulf Stream and usually escapes the severity of weather experienced elsewhere on Earth at this latitude.
Rainfall varies greatly in this area, and large variations from the average are to be expected.
