Chew Moor
The derivation of this name is not clear, but believed to be derived from the
name of a River with Middlebrook passing though. It is known that a family by
the name of Chew lived in this area. Chew Moor lies between
Westhoughton and
Lostock Junction. It is also possible to
travel along the A6 to Wingates.
